Our Story So Far

Catch up as we begin the next chapter!

    Love at first swipe?

It was a cold day in December when we mutually swiped right on the second most popular dating app (after Jigsaw). Our first date was to Las Iguanas where we bonded over 2 for 1 jugs of Margaritas (a running theme); little did we know we were headed for lockdown…

    Move in or move on

After a wonderful 12 weeks of dates we arranged for a mini-break to the peak district. Alas we only managed 5 hours before the lockdown was announced and we started our journey home the next day. One of the topics of discussion on the radio was ‘what should newly met couples do about lockdown?’. The answer was simple: move in or move on! We liked each other quite a lot so we opted for the former, certain that it would only be 3 weeks before everything went back to normal.

    It's still going?

We were of course very wrong. Whilst lockdown continued, our love did not choke and die. Instead we isolated together, playing endless rounds of monopoly deal and watching Netflix in the hot tub. By the time the lockdown was lifted we were in it for the long term with no intention of moving out.

    The big question

The subsequent years have been filled with adventures, travels and collecting animals (Frankie rather than Rose); until on an adventure to Iceland, Frankie took Rose down the crack (between the tectonic plates) and proposed!

Wedding Location
Elmley Nature Reserve

About the venue

Elmley Nature Reserve is a special place - 3,300 acres of wonderful wilderness and breath-taking beauty on an island in North Kent, 40 miles from London. It is a family farm, and 40 years ago Philip and Corinne Merricks, were pioneering farmers, who worked tirelessly to make Elmley such an important site for wildlife by restoring nature to the entire estate.
Getting to the venue

By Car

Take the A2 south east down to the M2. When on the M2 at junction 5, take the A249 exit to Sittingbourne/Sheerness/Channel Tnl. Then take the slip road to Maidstone Road/A249. Take the exit towards Iwade/Lower Halstow (You want to be going under the bridge). Take the second exit at the roundabout onto Sheppey Way. When you turn Right onto Ferry Road you should see signs for the event as this road takes you all the way up to the venue and it will be closed to the public.

By Train

If you are coming by train, you can travel to Sittingbourne station and the recommendation is to get a taxi from there 10 minutes up to Elmley Nature reserve. Once you are on Ferry Road your taxi driver will be able to take you all the way up to the venue (about 2 miles in from the road).
Please Note: If you are not staying on site with us on the Saturday night then we would recommend booking a taxi prior to the event to come pick you up.
